You Might Think...

That this is just another “foodie” blog. Some man-bunned twenty-something taking pictures of his latest restaurant exploits, posting them, then writing about them.

Nope.

Personally, I rarely eat out. I don’t enjoy other people touching and breathing over my food. But that’s just me.

We may talk about food — like creamed eggs. It has been nearly fifty years and I still mentally recoil at the thought of those lumps embedded in a snot-like texture. Yikes.

You will never know what you might read here.

OH, COVID?

Not sure I can blame this on COVID 19 or not. I came down with COVID way back in January 2022. Didn’t really hit me hard. Left me with a lingering cough. But within the last six months (or so) my tastes have been changing. Not my discernment or my preference for different things, but how food actually tastes to me.

CHEESE – it all tastes bitter
MEAT – almost all meat is losing its flavor. Ground beef is like chewing a dishrag – no flavor at all.

These are the ones I’ve noticed, so far. Sweets, which have come and gone in my life, have come back with a vengeance. For a while this summer I was eating a couple of candy bars a day – the big ones.

And let me just say Snickers – best candy bar out there. Baby Ruth is a close second.
